A Trip

Often I long for a faraway vacation. To take a plane to elsewhere, faraway and mysterious. And it would be fun, beautiful, and everything is new and wonderful. That day, I took a turn down a familiar road, and I found an unfamiliar magical place.

Everything was new and interesting. The sight! The explosion of colours that surrounds me took my breath. The smell! A variety of sweet smells, each distinctive yet almost similar, clung to my nose everywhere I walked. The sounds! People spoke of familiar and unfamiliar languages, even the engines of the vehicles sounded almost different and melodious. Touch! The richness of an assortment of fabric, of carpets, and the warmth of the smiles and the day draws me deeper into the place. This place, named Arab Street and Haji Lane, right here at home.

Who needs a far getaway when I have yet to finish exploring my own home?
