The Craze for drawing Trees.

The weather was great. Windy, cloudy and it's all grey and about to rain.
That patch of trees behind the school seemed more than eery, but strangely inviting at the same time. I think it might be the smell of the impending rain.

Huddles, white-ink pen on water-based marker.

Ok, so it led to my series of trees. I really found it as kind of an interesting topic to work on. first was just individual projects.

The Burn,  Pencils on sketch paper.

The Burn was something out of my fantasy. I did a series of morphs for it but I burnt them all. Ok not funny, but that was a joke. I just didn't got it documented. It was used as an assignment but I didn't thought of documenting it.

The Matyrdom of Gaia, Acrylic and mixed media prints on paper.

And then there was a new project cliented by the Ministry of Environment (MOE). It was Gaia week and me and my groupmates were to make a painting to put up at the Pasir Ris Park. It took us about 3 weeks to finish from the brainstorming, planning, to producing the huge piece of painting collage.

It was wrapped around the pillar of a significant spot in the park. It was to symbolise the shackles of Gaia. With a pained look on her face.

The whole synopsis of the painting collage was written like an eulogy in the "death" of Gaia.

I enjoyed this project. I'm glad I could do something with my artistic skills, in raising the awareness for conserving the environment.

The piece of painting stayed in the park, braving all the harsh conditioning of a tropical country like Singapore, for almost 2 months.

Well, nothing is in permanence. The beauty of nature finally forced the painting down.
